Technology is becoming the blood of our humanity.
Sciences
represents from long time the spirit of the evolution. Ideas and
creativity are what distinguish us from other animals nevertheless it
seems that we leave too many times that ideas come imprisoned.
Our
society, based on economical systems that are strongly oriented to
the consumption, is demostrating undoubtedly his embrittlement and
that this depend just by his structure type.
The
FREE
SOFTWARE,
with his costantly growing importance, is demonstrating instead the
recent human desire for a "new
way to look at world's things".
FREE
SOFTWARE is telling us to wake up because the morning of a better
future is rising. Thousands of people that are developing their ideas
and releasing it under the GNU/GPL/LPGL licenses cannot be a mistake.
FREE SOFTWARE words don't mean only "OPEN CODE" as, instead,
"OPEN SOURCE" ones do much better. FREE SOFTWARE means more
strictly "OPEN VISION".
Unfortunately
there is again a lot of ignorance regarding this phenomenon. A lot of
people perceive the words "FREE SOFTWARE" only as a synonym
for "FREE OF CHARGE" and look at all software developed
through this idea as products to use without respect for who have
worked strong in implementing and sharing his ideas.
Still
worse, other people, not understanding that the FREE SOFTWARE can be
a real fair job, think that who follows this idea is doing that only
as a pastime or to promote himself.
But
fortunately
there are also a lot of other people that have married and that
respect this revolutionary concept.
The
overwhelming majority of us is using every day a lot of FREE SOFTWARE
or, however, other products based on it. Who say that is not using at
all FREE SOFTWARE is also, in a lot of cases, unconscious of using
products that are based upon it. For example, do you know that there
are routers (the standard modems for who have an X-DSL line) based on
FREE SOFTWARE firmware?
Software
is everywhere and not only into our computer. We all should
understand how much is importat that developers around the globe are
implementing FREE and OPEN alternatives to proprietary software.
A
proprietary software is a closed source software that is producted by
a company, or a single man, and that limit our FREEDOM to discover
and learn how it work. We cannot change what we have bought, or also
received free of charge, to fit our needs and, more and more
important, in a lot of cases, we cannot share it with friends or
other people that, for example, don't have a sufficient economical
condition to buy the same product.
An
alternative to proprietary software is a FREE SOFTWARE program that
can do the same things as the first but give us also the right and
the power to examine, to study and eventually to adapt it to our
requirements.
FREE
SOFTWARE means to be transparent with all people because everyone
could look into the code, exchange it, modify it and check it to find
eventual unpleasant, dangerous or simply not desired features.
FREE
SOFTWARE means to be independent from who have product a particular
program so that, if a day we wouldn't to be more his costumer, we
will be able to ask other developers to support us.
FREE
SOFTWARE means to be able to learn what others have already done and
therefore jump on the shoulders of giants as Newton already said so
long ago.
FREE
SOFTWARE means to be able to help among us, in thousands of
thousands, and to improve our products and those of others at
advantage of the entire humanity.
Usually
FREE SOFTWARE is also FREE OF CHARGE but this is not mandatory. The
creator of the product usually give it FREE OF CHARGE because he
understand that all people should have access to his technology
otherwise the deriving progress will be not fair. But this not means
that the creator of the product don't need money to live. He need
money as much as anyone of us. It's good and fair if you understand
that sacrifices should be rewarded. Think to what you would receive
for the same effort, and then contribute giving a little part of it
to who have done the hard work in your place.
If
we all wants to continue in using a costantly improved FREE SOFTWARE,
benifitting of positive effects generated from that, we must help who
is working on this way.
Little
donations don't represent a sacrifice for the greater part of us but
is very important for who is working to give us more FREEDOM. If we
make a donation to who is offering us a FREE SOFTWARE, we are helping
all the FREE SOFTWARE community. Moral
responsibility is important, today more than ever!

FREE
SOFTWARE is an idea that mean solidarity, friendship, union and hope
for a better future. FREE SOFTWARE is the desire to live in a better
world in which technologies and software are part of the most
important things.
In
a world increasingly governed by IT systems, how people hope to
defend their freedoms? The story teach us that humanity should adapt
itself and psicologically grow to face new challenges. Others mans,
infinitely greater of us, have walked on this earth and have talked
about concepts very compatible and similar within the FREE SOFTWARE
one: for example Jesus said that "mans
need a different type of bread for everyone of their ages",
that "to
want means to be able", that
"when
he will returns all of us will be equal" and have also recommend us
"to love and help our neighbor".
I
believe that FREE SOFTWARE is teaching us a lesson more great and
important than the simple free development concept.
I
believe that FREE SOFTWARE represents the humanity that is evolving.
I believe that FREE SOFTWARE is not and don't want to be a politic
idea. I believe that FREE SOFTWARE is not a schism. I believe that
FREE SOFTWARE is not a coordinated movement.
I
believe that FREE SOFTWARE is the way with which we are proving what
there really are in our hearts.
If
each one of us should be done only the good of others, each one of us
would have a world of people concerned about himself.
Think
different. FREE SOFTWARE means viral evolution.
Evolution
will never stop. We can't avoit it. We can only prepare ourselves for
the future.
Help
